Members of the UWA community, including staff, students or alumni, can work with the Children’s University team to provide outstanding learning activities for primary school students, or volunteer for events such as Children’s University annual graduations. Public Learning Destinations that provide outstanding learning opportunities for children and their families are critical to the success of Children’s University. Although open to all, the CUA program particularly aims to reach children and young people, aged seven to 14 years, facing socio-economic and educational disadvantage. Families interested in participating can encourage their school to join the program. Schools first become a Children’s University Australasia (CUA) member and appoint a School Coordinator before inviting interested students at their school to become members. The Children’s University Western Australia Partnership team welcome anyone who shares our commitment to fostering aspirations and a love of learning for children of all backgrounds to consider supporting Children’s University in Western Australia. All learning experiences are designed to have links to higher education learning and courses. The CUWAP program embraces local learning opportunities offered by places such as public libraries, zoos, parks, museums, art galleries, theatres, sporting clubs, school clubs as well as businesses. Families are closely involved in the program, joining children in their learning journey and supporting their goals. ![]() Their achievements are recognised each year with a formal graduation and certificates, where children wear caps and gowns just like older students do at university graduations. Through a ‘Passport to Learning’, children aged 7-14 from partner primary schools participate in learning activities of their choice beyond the classroom.
